About The Owners:
Funtastic Play Centers is owned and operated by 2 sisters and their families. Stacie Morgenstern has resided in Elk Grove for 8 years and has 3 children – Ryan, 6; Emily, 4; and Jack, 2. Kirstin Toms moved to Sacramento from San Diego 2 years ago and has 2 daughters – Madison, 4 and Kailey, 2. Prior to opening Funtastic Play Centers in May of this year, both were stay-at-home moms.

Having young children, we were both frustrated by the lack of indoor activities in the Sacramento area as the summer temps rise beyond 100 degrees and winter time rain keeps families inside their houses. We saw a need in Elk Grove for an indoor play center. We wanted a place where parents could relax and recharge and enjoy a little “me time” while their children played in a safe environment. There are large play centers out there, but parents leave more exhausted than the children do after chasing them around for several hours. We also wanted to find a place where different age children could all play and have fun – Stacie has been challenged in finding a place where her 6 year old and 2 year old were both entertained and able to do the activities. Funtastic is this place – all 3 of her children love playing here (and ask to come in on Stacie’s day off as well!).

Stacie and Kirstin both work at Funtastic on a daily basis along with all 5 children. We’ve found a career as stay-at-home moms where we are able to work outside of our homes, but still be with our children. We can’t say it is always easy, but we wouldn’t trade it for anything (most days, anyway)! Our hopes for Funtastic Play Centers is a place where moms and dads can escape their homes, offer their children a safe place to play, visit with other parents and meet new friends.
